Designing a cathedral represents both an opportunity and a challenge. On the one hand, embodies the opportunity to create a landmark that reinforces faith amongst a historically faithful Christian population, and on the other hand, gives us a chance to reflect upon the constant dialogue that should take place in such territory full of culture and history. Light and Stone symbolize the way in which volumes and spaces explore their dual interactions at various scales, conveyed through solidness and emptiness or open space and built form. Furthermore, the distribution of external and interior spaces of the programme is laid out as a reinterpretation of the traditional religious compounds, keeping a clear and precise relationship between each other.
